Fr Jack: I know that the bureaucracy surrounding the protection of children – C.R.B. checks etc. – is irksome for us all. But it is necessary and shows that we take safeguarding our children seriously. Take careful note of Mary Fitzpatrick’s reminder:
A Parish audit of volunteers with clearance from the Criminal Records Bureau has been requested by the Archdiocesan Safeguarding Department. Members of the following groups require C.R.B. clearance:- clergy; Eucharistic ministers; children’s liturgy; St Vincent de Paul; musicians; Knights of St. Columba; altar-servers (over 18 years old) and helpers in Communion and Confirmation groups.
I have left the forms in the Sacristy and ask that everyone adds their name and details to them. Thank you for your help and in understanding the importance of ensuring the safety of children and vulnerable adults within the Parish. Please contact me for help or more information.
